Glentress Forest, Scotland. It’s World Championships time of the year again. The world’s best athletes are ready to gather in Scotland, including SCOTT-SRAM’s Kate Courtney who’s lining up to represent the US flag on the Scottish circuit. After winning the World Champs in 2018, Kate brings in the experience needed for the big hit!
For this edition of the 2023 World Championships, Kate will ride a unique Spark RC made in partnership with World Bicycle Relief specifically for this event. Every year, World Bicycle Relief helps mobilize people through the Power of Bicycles. This year the goal of their campaign is to inspire more women and girls on bikes by highlighting women racers that are breaking barriers, setting new records, and shattering glass ceilings in the cycling world. And who better than SCOTT-SRAM athlete Kate Courtney to talk about and promote this project?
The idea behind the special edition Spark RC was to create a design which empowers women and girls. SCOTT’s Design Team started with Kate’s words “Lift as you Climb” and collaborated with her in creating this very special bike. The artwork depicts mountains along the frame in a nod to her inspiring and motivational words, whilst small details make the bike sparkle and shine. Have a closer look at the pictures below!
And the best thing is, one lucky person can win this one-of-a-kind bike! Through SCOTT’s partnership with World Bicycle Relief, a replica was created of the bike that Kate will ride at the 2023 MTB World Championships. This replica bike can be won and all the donations will go to World Bicycle Relief to allow women and girls all over the world to experience the power of bicycles.
