With a fine bronze medal from Andri Frischknecht at the Swiss Cyclocross Nationals, and YOUPLUS announced as a new partner of the team, it’s fair to say the SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team is having a successful start into 2024
Meilen, Switzerland. While the rest of the team athletes are chasing the sun and getting ready for the 2024 MTB season, one is following the family legacy of Cyclocross. With a strong ride at the Swiss Cyclocross Nationals, Andri claims a medal as the third generation of Frischknechts racing cross.

Kate Courtney in California, Nino Schurter in South Africa and Filippo Colombo on the Canary Islands, the team are all currently putting in high training hours in warmer conditions. So will Andri from this week on, but first, he jumped on the bike with the skinny tires to chase another passion of his: Cyclocross.
For most of the race, Andri could hold on to the pace of the cyclocross specialists Timon Rüegg and Kevin Kuhn. However, over the full race time, Andri had to realize that the more experienced specialist had a technical advantage over him. The power was there, but a mistake here and there caused too much time to keep up towards the end.
Stepping on the podium in 3rd is still a good way to start year, following in the footsteps of Andri’s grandfather Peter (7 medals at Cyclocross World Championships) and father Thomas (2 time Cyclocross World Champion).
Now Andri is joining Filippo on a training camp with the Swiss Cycling Team before the team heads to another training camp in South Africa in February.
